Training for the North Wales Rangers Touch team to represent the region at the Wales Touch Association Nationals in September 2019 will begin:

Sunday, 16th September 2018

at

Abergele Rugby Club

Pentre Mawr Parc, Dundonald Avenue, Abergele LL22 7SP

Training will run every other Sunday, and will alternate between "A" training, which will work on the game plan we intend to adopt at the tournament, and "B" training, which will work on individual and sub-unit skills.  There will also be sessions which will do a little bit of work on touch-related fitness.  We will also make sure there is a significant amount of game time at each training session, and as time goes on, we will make sure the rules are applied properly to the correct level for the tournament.

We currently have over 20 people interested in representing the region, but are always keen to get more people involved, so if you wish to give it a try, please use the following form to register:

We currently intend to form a Mixed Team, which will consist of 7-8 males and 7-8 females.  If numbers grow sufficiently, we will possibly look to building separate men's and women's teams.  Selection for these teams will take place towards the end of spring 2019.  For final selection we will be looking for players who have adopted the rules and techniques of the sport, who play to the practiced gameplan, who work effectively as a team, who communicate well, and who are fit and agile enough to play the game at the highest level.  We will also be looking at attendance at training as a criteria too, so please try to attend as many sessions as possible, or if you are unable to attend, make sure you let us know in advance!

It's going to be hard work.  A year may sound like a long time, but as we're only training every 2 weeks, it only works out at around 25 sessions.  There's a lot to learn in a very short amount of time.  But it should be a fun challenge!

Hope to see you there!
